Camlica Hill

A Historical, Natural, and Scenic Destination in Istanbul

Çamlıca Hill is a historical and natural hill located in the Üsküdar district of the Anatolian side of Istanbul. One of the highest points in Istanbul, Çamlıca Hill is about 268 meters above sea level. From the top of the hill, a large part of the city, including the Bosphorus, the Sea of Marmara, and the historical peninsula of Istanbul, can be seen. This magnificent view is a major attraction for visitors. Çamlıca Hill is also one of the most popular picnic areas in Istanbul. The wide green areas around the hill are frequently visited by families and groups of friends. In addition, the walking trail leading to the top of the hill offers visitors the opportunity to both exercise and explore the beauty of nature. At the top of the hill is the Çamlıca Mosque, Turkeys largest mosque, which was completed in 2019. The mosque is notable for its 63,000-person capacity, four minarets, and impressive architecture. In addition, the mosque houses a variety of social and cultural facilities, such as an art gallery, library, and conference hall. Çamlıca Hill is one of the most important tourist destinations in Istanbul, thanks to its historical, natural beauty, and magnificent views. It is frequently visited by both locals and tourists.
